Leviticus 26-27

“I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people” (26:11). The rules for sacrifice, worship, and holiness in daily life had one aim: to make room for God to dwell among the Israelites. As signs of God’s reality on earth, both his kindness and his judgment (26:14-35), the Law also stated that Israel would experience terrible consequences of sin (26:14-35). Yet “in spite of this” (26:44), God declared that judgment would not be his final word to them.

“I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid” (26:6). Because God in Christ dwells among us by the Spirit, we can sleep, wake, and live without fear.
