Joshua 1-6
/“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (1:9). As Israel’s new leader, Joshua received the same promise Moses did: God promised to never leave him. While Israel enjoyed the amazing blessing of being God’s people (33:29), their peace and prosperity would depend on trusting the Lord and faithfully obeying his voice (1:7-8). Rahab exemplified this faithful obedience, even though she knew very little about Israel’s God (Joshua 2).
“Shout! For the Lord has given you the city” (6:16). God can do far more than we can imagine. He calls us to trust, listen, and walk in courageous obedience, wherever he leads.
