Isaiah 41-42

“Here is my servant ... my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations” (1). Isaiah declared that the nations and people who were looking for help from idols would find nothing but “wind and confusion” (41:29). But God’s Messiah would truly bring justice and hope (42:4). Though filled with power, the Messiah would rule through gentleness: “He will not shout or cry out ... a bruised reed he will not break” (42:2-3).

God’s Messiah revealed what real strength looks like. He came not to crush His enemies (us), but to open blind eyes, “free captives from prison”, and give his life to save us (42:7).
