Isaiah 43-44
/“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine” (43:1). Through Isaiah, God declared that the loving relationship He had with Israel would be extended to all “called by His name” (43:7). God promised to gather new sons and daughters “from the ends of the earth” (43:6) and “pour out my Spirit” on future generations (44:3). Many would abandon useless idols (44:19) and say, “I belong to the Lord” (44:5).
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you ... when you walk through fire, you will not be burned” (43:2). When we turn to the Lord, He includes us in His family and all His promises become ours through Christ.
