Hebrews 2
/“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death” (14). Rather than fight for us from above, the Son of God came down, took on our flesh, and walked our path (17). He knows what it feels like to be tempted and to suffer (18). Although innocent, he carried our burdens and sins all the way to death, so that we can be forgiven and free (14-17).
Because Jesus calls us “brothers and sisters” and shares our humanity (11), by faith we can share His righteousness, His secure relationship with the Father, and His resurrection power.
