Psalm 78
/The Psalmist wants to tell us a story (1-3) about God – His deeds, His power, and His wonders (4). He tells the story so that each generation “would put their trust in God” (7). The writer tells the history of Israel and how, despite all God’s goodness towards them, many did not listen. They “rebelled against the Most High” (56). God, in His kindness, still provided a good shepherd king for them (72).
The whole story of Scripture and the whole history of humanity reveal a God who does everything possible to lead us into life. Only our stubbornness leads us astray (8,33). Jesus came to give us abundant life. We must learn from the “story” and stay close to Him.
