Psalm 28-30
/“The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders ... breaks the cedars ... shakes the desert” (29:3-8). The psalmist reminds us that no matter what we see happening, the Lord is “enthroned over the flood” and sovereign over the chaos of the world (10). The voice that called the universe into being is still speaking with power, and he is our “strength” and our “fortress of salvation” (28:8-9). Securely within his temple, dwelling with him, we cry “Glory!” (29:9).
“You turned my wailing into dancing” (30:11). The glorious God of all creation comes close to us in Christ, capable and willing to heal what is broken.
