Isaiah 53-55
/“But he was pierced for our transgressions ... the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed” (53:5). Israel’s repeated rebellion and exile demonstrated their need for a Savior. One day, God would send His Servant to bear the weight of the sins of the whole world, and through the Messiah, the power of sin and death would be broken. Abundant life would be freely available to “all who were thirsty” (55:1).
The Messiah Jesus who walked our path is the answer to our sins, our wounds, and our fears. Through Him, we belong to the Father. “All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace” (54:13).
