Isaiah 50-52
/“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news!”(52:7; Rom 10:15). Isaiah declared that God’s salvation was not in human control. God wanted to bring peace and good news to Zion, but those who “walked in the dark” must “rely on their God” and not use their own “flaming torches” (50:10-11). Rather than claiming their superiority or following idols, they must look to Abraham’s example of real faith (51:1-2).
“See my Servant will act wisely ... there were many who were appalled at him” (52:13-14). The Messiah’s suffering and death demonstrated that God’s way of saving is not our way (52:13-15). We must give up self-rescue and put our faith in Him alone.
