John 3
/“No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again” (3). Nicodemus, a Jewish leader, knew the Law well and was curious about Jesus, who was doing signs that showed he was “from God.” Jesus was quick to point out that being part of God’s kingdom was not just about familiarity with religion or good morals; belonging to God came from being born of the Spirit (5) through belief in Jesus, God’s Son (15-19).
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life” (36). Good values and even signs and wonders are not enough. Only through trusting in Jesus himself, the Light sent into the world, can we begin to truly live in God’s kingdom.
