Psalm 25-26

“I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame” (25:2). The psalmist’s trust was a weighty thing; by “trusting” in the Lord, he left behind other sources of power and security and put his reputation, his happiness, and his future in God’s hands. He was confident that “no one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame” (25:3; 26:3); God will faithfully teach, guide, and shepherd us toward his good purposes (25:8,9,12).

“All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful …” (25:10). As we follow the voice of Jesus in our inner lives and outward behavior, we can trust that his purposes for us are far more glorious than our own.
