Mark 13-14

“A woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume … She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head” (14:3). As Jesus explained to his disciples that great pressure and persecution were coming (ch 13), and the Passover was just days away, a woman anointed him with perfume. People were choosing sides about Jesus (14:10) and Peter himself was about to fail, but in the midst of these competing forces, this woman chose to worship Jesus.

“She has done a beautiful thing to me” (14:6). When the chaos and pressure of our world - or our lives – increases, Jesus is even more our Redeemer King and deserves our worship.
