I Thessalonians 1-2

“Our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake” (1:5). Paul and the apostles taught about Jesus and demonstrated the daily life of faith: “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well” (2:8). This example inspired the Thessalonians to live out their faith with joy, even enduring suffering (1:6), imitating the apostles and, even more, Jesus himself (1:6).

Jesus, the Word made Flesh, calls us to live out the gospel through our real lives and relationships, with “the Holy Spirit and deep conviction.”
