Psalms 95-96

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation” (95:1). Both Psalm 95 and 96 call us to worship the Lord with singing, as he is the Creator of the earth, mountains, sea and all people (95:4- 7). The psalmist reminds us that we, unlike other creatures, have a choice: we willingly worship ‘the Rock of our salvation’, or we harden our hearts against his goodness (95:8-11). When we say ‘yes’ to him, we enter and live in his ‘rest’ (95:11).

“Say among the nations, ‘the Lord reigns’” (96:10). Worship brings our hearts into alignment with our Creator, and at the same time we declare his praise to others.
