Psalm 61-62

“From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (61:2-3). The psalmist knew that all people are created to find their strength in the Lord (62:5-6). From kings (61:6) to citizens, from millionaires to desperate refugees and everyone in between, our true home and belonging is in God’s “tent” – where He dwells (61:4). Everything on earth may fail us, but God’s goodness, mercy, and power will not fail.

When we cry out for God’s “love and faithfulness” (61:7), we are admitting that we need him. He welcomes us under the shelter of his wings (61:4).
