Colossians 1

“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ” (28). As people rescued and brought into the kingdom of the Son (13), Paul says, we are on a life-long journey to know him more. The Son is both the Way we are reconciled to the Father (19-20,22) and the One by whom and for whom everything was created: it’s Jesus’ kingdom (16). If we want to know what God is like, we look at Jesus (15,19).

As we know Jesus more, his Spirit empowers us to “live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work” (10).
