Psalm 11

The Psalmist feels overwhelmed by a world gone wrong, whose “foundations are being destroyed” (3). There seems to be no safe place to fly away to (1). He reflects two sure foundations. The Lord “is in his holy temple” and the Lord sees, he “observes everyone” (4).

We are often tempted to see all that is wrong in the world and to begin to panic. But our lives and our world are not determined by the wickedness around us, but by a God whose rule never wavers and who is paying attention and knows those who are faithful to him and those who are not. He will make sure that in the end all things are made right (7).
