Matthew 23-25

“Everything they do is done for people to see” (23:5). The religious leaders in Jesus’ day were much better at teaching the law than living it (23:3-4), and Jesus condemned their hypocrisy and self-promotion. He told his disciples that in his kingdom, they were all brothers, and they were supposed to serve one another (23:11). Indeed, as they served “the least of these” (25:40), they were actually serving King Jesus himself.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat … I was a stranger and you invited me in” (25:35). Love for Jesus is expressed in how we love and care for the men and women all around us, made in His image.
