Deuteronomy 31
/“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you” (31:6). Moses was about to die. He had led Israel out of Egypt and through the desert, but he would not lead them into the Promised Land; their new leader, Joshua, would do that. Moses reminded the people, repeatedly, that their strength was not in a specific human leader, but in God Himself (v8).
Leaders have helpful gifts for organizations and communities, but our eyes and our hearts must be fixed on our King. God is our strength, our confidence, and our goal.
