Deuteronomy 33-34

“The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (33:27).  Before he died, Moses spoke a patriarchal blessing over Israel, proclaiming the fruitfulness, peace, and well-being of the tribes in the Promised Land.  Moses’ words reflect God’s deep love and joyful, positive vision of the future, which includes everyone who has been “brought near by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:13).  Jew and Gentile, our “dwelling place,” our true home, is with God in Christ.

“Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD!” (33:29).  All who call on God through Jesus Christ are “saved by the Lord,” safe in God’s everlasting arms.
