Ezekiel 41-44

“And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the east. And the sound of his coming was like the sound of many waters, and the earth shone with his glory” (43:2).  Though Ezekiel was living with other Jewish exiles far from home in Babylon, in a vision he saw Jerusalem’s Temple restored, and he saw God Himself entering in glory.  In this vision, the priests fulfilled their role, teaching “the difference between the holy and the common” (44:23).

“This shall be their inheritance: I am their inheritance” (44:28). Ezekiel’s vision pointed toward the day when God would dwell among His people, His own sacrifice making them “a royal priesthood, a holy nation” (I Peter 2:9).
