Psalm 113

“Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth?” (v5-6).  The psalmist called for God’s praises to be sung “from the rising of the sun to its setting” (v3), because our Creator is “seated on high” and yet loves us enough to get involved with us.  God does not simply observe the earth; He “raises the poor from the dust … to make them sit with princes (v7-8).  He makes the barren woman “a joyous mother of children” (v9).

“Blessed be the name of the LORD”, because He is “high above all nations” and yet hears our prayers (v2,4).
