Ephesians 2
/“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ” (v4-5). Paul emphasized that the work of salvation – made possible by Christ’s death on cross – was motivated by God’s “great love.” Despite our rebellion, He made us fellow citizens and saints (v19), and He has even more “immeasurable riches of grace” to pour out in the coming ages (v7).
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works” (v10). In love, God rescues us from sin and invites us to share in His beautiful purpose for the world.
