Psalm 6

“Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing …” (6:2).  Our modern world teaches us to treat ourselves as distinct parts: bodies, minds, spirits, emotions, etc.  But the psalmist recognized that these parts of ourselves are deeply connected, and he confessed that his distress affected every aspect:  “My bones are troubled … my soul is troubled … I flood my bed with tears” (v2-6).  He felt no shame in pouring out his heart to God, because “The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord accepts my prayer” (v9).
“Be gracious to me.”  God’s grace covers our sins, and His mercy extends to touching our emotions, minds, and bodies.  #NCManna
