Exodus 5

"O Lord, why have you done evil to this people?” (v22).  When Moses and Aaron demanded that Pharaoh release the Israelite slaves, his response was to increase their workload, forcing them to gather the straw they used to make bricks.  This first step in the process to rescue the Israelites seemed to only make things worse.  The people raged at Moses and Aaron, saying that their intervention had only led to more misery; they could not see beyond to the Promised Land.

“Let my people go” (v1).  God has proven His faithfulness; we can trust that even if we feel stuck in difficulty, help is on the way.
