11 Samuel 7:18 - Ch 8

“And the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went” (8:14). David’s best years and his most famous victories occurred when he remained humble and dependent on God.  When the Lord promised to build him “a house,” (a royal dynasty), David exclaimed, "Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?” (7:18).  He realized that his own life and the kingdom of Israel were examples of God’s great redemption (v23), and God wanted to show His glory through the nation.

God reaches out to save according to His “own heart” (v21). Like David, rather than leaning on ourselves, we thrive when we trust in God’s infinite love and power.
