Hebrews 7-8

“This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant … (v22-25). Hebrews explains that the old covenant with priests, temple, and sacrifices is now obsolete (8:13), because it was only “a copy and shadow” of the heavenly truth revealed in Jesus (8:5). We don’t need human, imperfect priests or animal sacrifices because we have a permanent High Priest in Jesus Christ, and He sacrificed himself. This “new covenant” – our salvation based on faith in Jesus – will never fail. Jesus saves us “to the uttermost” because He is alive forever and praying for us (7:25-28).

Jesus, “holy, innocent, unstained,” gave his life for us (7:26). He is still saving, forgiving, healing, and interceding for us.
