Jude, Revelation 1-3
/“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me” (R3:20). John’s “revelation of Jesus” was filled with encouragement for persecuted churches, reminding them that their reward was friendship with Christ Himself. Through John’s vision, Jesus counseled struggling believers to continue in “patient endurance” through their trials (2:2); though they had “little power,” it was enough to keep them from faithful (3:8).
“I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown” (3:10). In our weakness, Jesus helps us to stay faithful, so that we can receive the “crown” of abundant life.
