Psalm 5-6

“My soul also is greatly troubled … save me for the sake of your steadfast love” (6:3-4). The psalmist didn’t hide the fact that his soul was often troubled; he “drenched his couch with weeping” (6:6).  He felt attacked and threatened by his enemies (6:10), as if his life was a constant battle.  Yet because of God’s abundant steadfast love (5:7), he regularly laid his fears and sorrows before the Lord. The psalmist knew the Lord was full of compassion and had power to help.

“The Lord accepts my prayer” (6:9).  God never gets weary of helping us in our troubles.  Because of His abundant love, we can go to Him again and again and find peace.
