Malachi 1-4

“But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears?” (3:2).  Malachi warned the people of Judah that God was bringing judgment both in the present and on the final day, when the Judge would come to earth.  As God’s people, they had the benefit of priests, the Law, and the sacrifices.  But the corrupted priests were causing others to stumble (2:8), the people were refusing to tithe and offered their unwanted animals on the altar, and marriage was not honored (2:14).

“Return to Me, and I will return to you” (3:7). God calls us to Himself so that we can live for Him and in Him. We don’t have to fear His coming.
