Psalm 64-65
/“Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house …!” (65:4). The psalmist rejoiced that God “brings us near” to bless us. His original kind purposes for us are revealed in rain and harvests and provision: “You crown the year with bounty” (65:8-13). God’s “awesome deeds” (v5) touch us individually, too, as He hears our prayers (ch 64), covers our sins (65:3), and gives us salvation (v5).
God is the giver of good gifts. At great cost to Himself, He redeemed us from the “ends of the earth (65:5) so that His original purpose to bless us might be fulfilled.
