I Kings 18

“Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly …” (v3).  Obadiah was King Ahab’s palace manager (v2), and he used his position to secretly protect 100 prophets of God when Queen Jezebel was trying to wipe them out.  Obadiah wasn’t a dramatic figure like Elijah, and yet he courageously risked his life because he “feared the Lord greatly.” He was still frightened by Ahab (v12), yet he quietly did what was right. Elijah’s role was public, yet Obadiah’s private obedience mattered just as much.

“Let it be known this day that you are God in Israel” (v36). Our daily, sacrificial choices to follow Jesus, to love and serve as He did, display His reality to the world.
