Genesis 37-38
/“But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peacefully to him” (37:4). God’s covenant with Abraham was accomplished through miracles: Isaac was born to elderly parents, Jacob “wrestled” with God, and their wealth multiplied against all odds. Now, the covenant seemed like it would be destroyed due to hatred between brothers and through Judah’s terrible treatment of Tamar (ch 38). But God’s faithfulness was stronger than human failure.
“The boy is gone …” (37:30). Despite the failures of Abraham’s family, God remained faithful. He knew the worst of our sins, and He still desired to save us.
