Exodus 19-21
/“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery” (20:2). God rescued the Israelites out of Egypt “on eagles’ wings” for a purpose: so that they could be His people, obeying His ways, becoming “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (19:6). Just as priests led people into God’s presence, Israel’s purpose was to embody God’s glory and, through their relationship with Him, show other nations His faithfulness, mercy, and love.
“You shall have no other gods before me” (20:3). Our witness to others begins with knowing the Lord ourselves; as we love and obey Him, we lead others into His presence.
