Mark 6:30-56

“But he answered them, ‘You give them something to eat’ ” (v37).  Surrounded by desperate people, Jesus invited His disciples to participate in the solution, rather than simply performing the miracle Himself.  They had walked with Him and had seen Him heal the sick and multiply bread; now, Jesus wanted them to “go and see” what they had in their hands (v38). Jesus was still the One who blessed the food, broke it in pieces and multiplied it, yet the disciples had their part to play.

“And they all ate and were satisfied” (v42).  As people who have received, we’re called to give: to participate with Jesus in His mission of healing and redemption.
