Luke 13
/“Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way?” (v2). Jesus corrected those who thought that these Galileans, or others who experienced tragedy, were “getting what they deserved.” He warned that instead of calculating the sins of others, we ought to be aware of our own need for repentance (v5). In the same way, he challenged people to not be satisfied with a religious identity, which could not save them, but to truly get to know the Lord they claimed to serve (v25).
“Woman, you are freed from your disability” (v12). Jesus rebukes pride and self-righteousness, but He is full of compassion and forgiveness toward the humble.
