Luke 12
/“Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys” (v33). Jesus knew that most humans are concerned about having enough, comfort, and security for the future (v22-26). But these plans can fail or be stolen, while “the kingdom of God” (v31) lasts forever. Loving what God loves reorders our lives. Jesus adds “Fear not, little flock,” the Father wants to give us His kingdom (v32).
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (v34). Whatever we sacrifice for and invest in captures our hearts. Jesus wants us to live for imperishable treasure.
