Deuteronomy 32
/“The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity …” (32:4). The “Song of Moses,” given at the end of Moses’ life, reminded the Israelites that God was the Rock who had carried them (31:30). God chose Jacob’s descendants as a special portion of all humanity, to show the world what His personal care and protection looked like (v9). Israel turned to idols and “forgot the God who gave you birth” (v18), and the consequences were painful.
Moses told the Israelites that loyalty to God was their “very life” (32:47). The idols of the world lead to our destruction, but following the Creator revealed in Jesus leads to life.
