Deuteronomy 33-34

“Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph!” (33:29).  Moses wanted the Israelites to recognize how miraculous it was that the Creator of the universe had decided to dwell among them.  Since the fall of Adam and Eve, all humanity had lived separated from God, but through Israel, God was leading people back to Himself.  Their blessing, safety, and happiness was their relationship with the Lord (v28).

“The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (33:27).  God is our true home, our dwelling place no matter where we are. When everything else seems shaky, He remains faithful.
