Psalm 41
/“The LORD protects him and keeps him alive … you do not give him up to the will of his enemies” (v2). The psalmist experienced anger and disappointment when both his enemies and his supposed friends “imagined the worst” for him (v6-7). Whether physical or spiritual enemies, their “will” for him was destructive, but he knew that their power was limited. He cast himself on the Lord and trusted that God’s will for him – which is always good – would triumph in the end (v4).
God is more powerful than any destructive force in our lives, and He desires our well-being. “By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in triumph over me” (v11).
