Psalm 45

“In your majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let your right hand teach you awesome deeds!” (v4). This royal enthronement poem, which celebrates the high position of kingship, gives us a glimpse of a leader who exceeds worldly expectations.  This King is powerful and worthy of praise, and He defends “truth and meekness and righteousness,” giving His people a kingdom worth celebrating that is “forever and ever” (v6). This King isn’t just victorious; He is good.

“You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness” (v7). All human leaders want to win, but only the King of Kings, through a humble death, invites us to share His kingdom of righteousness.
