Deuteronomy 26-28

“You have declared today that the LORD is your God, and that you will walk in his ways … and the LORD has declared today that you are a people for his treasured possession” (26:17-18). The relationship between God and Israel was initiated by His grace, and then He called them to live by His ways. Obedience would produce blessing, and disobedience would lead to the curses of a broken relationship.  God rescued them from Egypt to walk with Him in holiness.

“And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD” (28:10). As God’s “treasured possession” in Christ, we are called to reflect the values of the One who saved us.
