John 14

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you” (v26). Jesus said that He wouldn’t leave His followers “orphans” (v18). After Jesus physically left the earth, the Holy Spirit would continue Jesus’ mission: teaching, correcting, encouraging, and empowering believers to do all that He commanded.  This “Spirit of truth”, our Comforter and Counselor, is Jesus’ gift to us.

“You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you” (v17).  The Holy Spirit, dwelling in us, draws us close to Jesus and empowers us to live for Him.
