I Samuel 25-28
/“The LORD has restrained you from bloodguilt and from saving with your own hand” (25:26). Wealthy, arrogant Nabal disrespected David and his men, and therefore, again, David was faced with a choice. He could attack Nabal’s household, which was justified by the world’s rules, or he could listen to Abigail, a woman sent by God to diffuse the situation. David chose to restrain his temper and let God deal with Nabal. Abigail prayed that David’s choice would result in his life being blessed (v29).
Believing that our lives are “bound in the bundle of the living in the care of the Lord” means that we can choose the way of Jesus, leaving the future to Him (25:29).
