Psalm 77

“I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old” (v11).  In a new time of trouble (v2), the psalmist remembered Lord’s rescue of His people, how He miraculously led them through the sea (v16).  The current situation was dark enough to make him wonder, “Has His steadfast love forever ceased?” (v8).  He concluded that the God of salvation does not change, although His methods are mysterious.  “Your way was through the sea, your path through the great waters; yet your footprints were unseen” (v19).

“Let me remember my song in the night” (v6).  Rather than rehearsing our worries, meditating on what the Lord has already done for us renews our hope.
