Revelation 4
/“At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the there was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald” (v2-3). John’s vision of God’s heavenly throne resembled Ezekiel’s vision from hundreds of years before (Ezekiel 1). “Living creatures” and “elders” are pictured giving God the praise He deserves, “day and night” (v8).
John saw that the Lord God who “was and is and is to come” was still enthroned, still receiving the praise of the universe (v8-11). This is the Creator who loves us and is at work for our good.
