Revelation 5

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” (v12). John saw something that had not been revealed to the prophet Ezekiel: the Lamb, standing in the midst of the throne. Son of God and Son of Man, Jesus was the only one “worthy” to open the scrolls and unleash God’s full redemptive plan, because by His blood He ransomed us, people from “every tribe and language and people and nation” (v9).

Not by force nor by an army of angels, but by laying down His own life, the Lamb rescued us and made us “a kingdom and priests to our God” (v10).
