Proverbs 30
/“Two things I ask of you; deny them not to me before I die: Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches ...” (v7-8). Agur the wise man (v1) said that the key to life was humility before the Lord (v1-3). He asked the Lord to keep him humble by helping him live honestly and giving him “the food that is needful.” When we have too much, we are tempted to forget God, and having too little could drive us to wrongdoing.
“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him” (v5). God invites us to lean on His wisdom and find refuge in His goodness and mercy.
