Psalm 142
/“I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him” (v2). When David was hiding in the cave from his enemies, he felt alone and forgotten. “There is none who takes notice of me ... no one cares for my soul” (v4). Yet in this crisis David learned that the Lord is close to us when we are scared, anxious, and vulnerable. “I cry to you, O LORD; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living” (v5).
“Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low!” (v6). When we are “very low,” we can pour out our hearts to the One who loves us, hears us, and wants to help us.
