Revelation 7

“These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (v14). Many of the churches in John’s day were experiencing persecution, and others would in the future. John’s vision reassured them that suffering was not the end of their story; Jesus had a future for them. “For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water” (v17).

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (v17). The joy and comfort of our eternal home with Christ will make sense of every suffering, big or small, that we have experienced on earth.
